This is a blog about Leroy Albert "Bert" Wilson Jr. of Salt Lake City Utah with our relatives, family, and friends... we hope to expand it as time allows...

Leroy Albert "Bert" Wilson Jr.

Obituary:
Surrounded by his loving family Leroy Albert "Bert" Wilson, Jr. 93 passed away on October 18, 2016.

Leroy was born September 16, 1923, in Salt Lake City Utah to Leroy A. Wilson Sr. and Marguerite 'Rita' Nelson Wilson. He graduated from South High School in 1942 and went into the Navy to serve his country in World War II. After the war, he worked on airplane instrumentation at Hill Field (HAFB) where he met his wife Charoll Creamer. They were married on June 30, 1949, and were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple.

He played football at the University of Utah the final year they wore leather helmets – known as the leatherheads. He graduated with a Marketing Degree.

He worked for General Motors Acceptance Company (GMAC) as a financial manager and retired after 34 years of service.

He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the Valley View 1st ward where he served as the Ward Clerk and Executive Secretary, Sunday School President, Elders Quorum President, and a Home Teacher.

He had a great love for his family and made many sacrifices so they would have a better life. He took them fishing in Yellowstone, Jeeping in Moab, trips to Lake Powell, and spent many weekends boating at Pineview. He loved working in his yard and planted a garden every year. He had beautiful roses and always picked the first rose of each year and gave it to his sweetheart. 

We want to thank the staff at IMC and the Doctors at the Heart Clinic for taking care of our father. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the LDS missionary or Education fund.

He is survived by his three children, Leroy (Cecilee), Nancy (Roger), and Donna; 12 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren with twins on the way and 1 great-great-grandchild and one on the way; half sisters and brother, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife Charoll, his parents, and sister Margaret Wilson Pohl.
